1. Back Home
He knows the grudge he harbors, and what it’s doing to him. “Those waves of
whiskey will always crash down on you”. Searching for guidance, he tripped over
every stone. “Do what you have to”. A soft woman’s voice sounds from the
speakers. She tells him home’s just a minute away, home’s just a minute away.
And he stares right at his home, dimmed lights, no one awaits him.
Come at ease and let it rest, he hears himself scream. “Am I the only one, used
up pushed aside ”. He’s not the easiest fellow “I can’t sleep, I can’t sleep, I
can’t”. Away he goes with his eyes closed shut a heart unfilled. “I might not
be a winner, but I’m sure as hell not a coward, I’m not afraid to die”.
2. Like Wolves
A simple gift won’t do the trick anymore. Those kids need more than you can
offer!
It’s greed and jealousy that keeps their fires burning.
Brief times of happiness and no more contentment.
(“I want it all!”) It seems the world is spinning in a pace we can’t keep up
with.
This is where the blessed parade. The sight of you gasping for breath.
You did everything to make the headlines but instead you ran right into
rejection.
You will have everything but me!
Hordes of the lost have seen the beacon that leads them.
The light is brighter than their eyes can handle.
Wandering around in a city that revolves around them.
You will have everything but me.
3. Downward
Her knees have lost its skin to the ground. The water cleanses, washes away
their every sin. The wooden floor hurts the open wounds “I have faith that his
eyes are resting on me, his kingdom will come”. A tender voice reaches the
dream she was caught by again. “We need to get away from here, no one will save
us from each other!” From each other!
We are the pigs so kill us or be trembled by reason. We are the wolves that
will not let you touch our hearts. There will be people like you for many more
years, it seems we’re stuck in evolution and we’re slowly drowning. It’s our
duty to take care of our freedom, it’s the greatest gift we got. It’s our life,
it’s my freedom. All this time, all my life. I believe in world where we have
opened our eyes.
4. Interlude
5. Loved And Lost
A shout echoes through the hallway “how can we live like this”. It has been
months since we had food in our stomachs. The mother, she gathered, her
children in a single room, “hold on to another let’s keep you warm tonight”.
The streets today, now count more houses and more rubble, then families. The
snowfall has covered every tree and every river. My child, no storm can keep
us parted. You are the only thing that kept me alive.
So far away, between a liar and his loved ones. He’s writing his letters in a
low candlelight. His hand is shaking, his mouth so dry, The cold sweat on his
forehead makes him shiver And the man starts to cry and the man starts to cry.
More tears then ink tell his story.
Running back, as fast as his legs could take him, would leave him dead
6. Grief
Merged into the city like an ordinary man. He keeps his stripes unseen his
boots locked away. He feels betrayed by, everyone he faught for. payed out
thrown back on the streets. “You don’t know, what we’ve seen and what we mean
to this world”. They went, from heroes, to martyrs in a day. They showed the
cruelty the devastation. One side, to this story. we just can’t turn away, we
just can’t turn away.
Mother I’m going in, please be with me in these deserts of hell. Please be with
me. A country just mothers putting their children into the ground. No time to
grieve. No time to grieve. No time to grieve Mother don’t leave me. Promise our
hands will be holding again. This isn’t how it was written.
7. A Shivering Voice
A mild breeze lifted the curtains. The smoke entered my lungs. Burned
photographs escaped through the open windows into the night sky.
The flames couldn’t burn away my past, it only made my shadows leap higher. And
for a while it felt like every sound disappeared. This world is not my own and
that will never change.
There is that breeze again, this time it took me away, my body felt lifted from
the surface. Too long too cowardice.
And that’s when I felt the arms around me. She pulled me back.
