[Instrumental]
2. Rise Of Lugh
Upon the Horizion,The Tower of glass stands tall
Balor of the evil eye ,watchs over all
The sons of nemed attacked with the power of druid spells
A great wave swallowed them and took them to the depths
A Druid told Balor,he would fall to a grandson
he sent his only daughter ,Ethlinn away into the tower of glass
Twelve women put there to guard and protect
To never see or hear the name of a man
and to grow beautifull.
Cian, Goibniu and Samthainn
Three brothers of the tuatha de danann
Residing at Druim na Teine
The Ridge of the fire
Guarding the glas gaibhnenn
Who's milk would never fail
From the theiving hordes
that coveted her.
Balor had set his eyes on it as well
Turning into a Young boy he tricked Samthainn
and as the brothers quarelled about the iron and steel
He left the forge, snatched the cow and crossed the sea.
Cian traveled to the Mountains to find the druid Birog
She dressed him as a woman and sent him across the sea
in a gust of wind......
As they entered the tower of glass
Birog put a spell of sleep upon them,
Cian found Ethlinn and she gave herself to him
But by the winds,he was sent away
And Ethlinn bore a son!!
Balor found out and a fear grew on him
He sent his people to put the child in cloth and to secure it with a pin
Balor commanded that the child ,be tossed into the sea
As the waves crashed, tumbled and fell
A newborn thought to have drowned
The one prophesised ,to end the tyrants reign....
Birog saved the child and brought him to Cian
and he sent him to Taillte,Daughter of the Great Plain
Thus Lugh was born
and a saga began..
3. In The Halls Of Nuada
Lugh went to Nuada, of the Silver Arm
At the Great Feast of Temhair,Celestial fires burn bright
I am Lugh son of Cian and Ethlinn
What are you skilled in Master of all arts?
I am champion,carpenter,harper and smith
I am magician ,poet and cupbearer,
Nuada challenged him to a game of chess
And ever game played Lugh won
None like him have entered here,His face as bright as the sun
Lugh took the throne for thirteen days ,and not a day more.
To fight against the fomor!!
Lugh went to Grellach Dollaid
with the Dagda ,Nuada and Ogma
To make plans and wage war on the fomor
The place was called"The Whisper of the Men of Dea"
The council broke for three long years
Lugh traveled to the Sons of Manannan
To Prepare for War!
Nuada held a great assembly
At the hill of Uisneach
The Warriors gathering grasping
their spears and shields
And over the hills came a brightnes
Like that of the setting sun to the west
Lugh and the Riders of the Sidhe
Galloping over the plains
On Manannans Horse Aonbharr
Swift as the wind, and strong as the sea
In the distance messangers
Nine times nine of the fomor come forth
Looking for tax's and fines
From the men of ireland
Four of the most foul fomori
Eine,Eathfaigh Coron and Compar
Bringers of Dread
A rage came onto Lugh
As he grabbed the Answerer
And watched as the
De Danann rose for the fomor
A fire in his eyes
That could not be quenched
Anger rose in him
He brought a fight to them
and the ildanach said!
"Why do you rise up before that surly, slovenly troop, when you did not rise up before us?"
4. A Warning To Balor
As the winds blow across Uisneach
Lugh prepares to attack
Driving the fomorians back to their lands
To send a message of war to balor!
No more shall we stand idle by
As our kin and our lands are oppressed
The Sun is setting on our shores
from the east and in the west
Lugh grabed his spear and his shield
and Launched himself through the wind
And as the fomor ran in terror
Lugh set upon them
ATTACK!
With blood on his ancient shield
He drove his spear into fomorian hide
Relentless with Rage,Fighting till the end
The bodies strewn and scattered
Crushing bone with tempered steel
Through armour battered and worn
The Call of war rings through theplains
As the horns bellow a new age
Ancient kings of Dana
look upon,Lugh with pride
Many warriors will fall and heroes will bleed
Till our lands are free
Forevermore
He made a end of eight nines of them
The last nine protected by the king
To send word back,to the tyrant balor
And tell the story from beginning to end
As the fires burn on the distant hills
And the waves crash upon Lochlann
The tides of battle are set in stone
As the flames flicker and die
Nuada and Lugh look to the horizion
Horns of war proclaim!
A great battle will take place soon
The Wrath of Balor comes forth!
War!!!!
As the fires and flames flicker and die.....
5. Riders Of The Fomor
On the isle of Lochlann
Balor gazes across the wild seas
Ceithlenn his wife reveals
the identity of the attacker
He is the son of our daughter and grandson
as it was foretold by the druids...
The council of fomorian chiefs met
Eab,Seanchub Neid and Liath
Lobais the Druid and the nine of poets of
Foreknowledge,Balor and Ceithlinn
Plan to amass a army for Bres to
take and fight with across the sea!!
Prepare Seven Great Battalions
Of the Riders of the Fomor
I will go to Ireland and
strike off Lugh's head and bring it back to Berbhe
Ready my ship's Bres said
Armour and Weapons ready towards
the Violent Waves..
Bres and Elathan ready the men
The Riders pack onto the ships
Spears and shields glistening in the sun
Mist rises from the depths
Ready to Fight and Burn the land's
And clash with the De Danann Horde
A figure near the harbour comes forth.
Balor commanded that ireland
Be tied to the back of their ships
Give battle to the ildanach
And strike off his head
Let the waters swallow
and consume the land and
bring it to the north of lochlann
None of the men of dea
Will ever find it there...
RISE FOMOR RISE!!
The Monstrous ships leave the harbour
Pull up the painted sail’s of war
They land at the harbour of Eas Dana
Sending out a army to Connacht in the West
Burning and Killing destroying the Plains
The Son of the Dagda Fell
King Bodb Dearg!!!!
6. The Sons Of Tuireann And The Blood Fine
Lugh passed down the bloodfine
to Luchar, Brian and Lucharba
For killing his father Cian
Wounded as a pig and killed as a man
Bring me,
Three apples,a spear,two horses,seven pig's
The skin of a pig and a cooking spit
A dog's whelp and three shouts on a hill
This is what i ask "Lugh said.
The Apples from the Garden of the East
The Pig skin of Tuis,King of Greece
The deadly Spear of the King of Persia
Pigs from Easal King of the Golden Pillar's.
The Horse's and Chariot , of Dobar of Siogair
The Hound Fail-Inis from the king of Ioruaidh
The Cooking spit from the women, of Inis Cenn-Fhinne
and the Shouts from the hill of Miochaoin!
A Sorrow fell on the Sons of Tuireann
Manannann's Wavesweeper was given
Tuireann watched in dismay and Lamented
Ethne turned and looked with grief
They left ireland with heavy hearts
And began their quest for Lugh
Through Death and Destruction they would venture
Till the blood fine was met.
In the Garden of the East,They turned into hawk's
Carrying the apples in their claw's
In the Court of Greece, they disguised as poet's
They killed the king and took the skin of the pig
They then went and killed the King of Persia
Found the spear its head in a cauldron of water
So it would not burst aflame!!
Heading to Siogair in the guise of paid soldier's
They stayed for a fortnight and a month
They found the horses and drove
The spear of Persia through the King's heart
Then to the King of Golden Pillar's
Easal met them and gave them the seven pig's
Through free will, As he would surely fall.
Arriving at the coast of Ioruaidh
In search for the Hound from the King
Easal told the story of the quest to persuade him
He refused and they began to clash
The king was bound ,the hound was given
And peace reclaimed.
Lugh had heard of the success of the Son's of Tuireann
He cast a spell of Forgetfullness upon them
With a desire to return to Eire
When they arrived something was amiss
They paid the fine to the king
But they had forgotten the spit and three shouts on the hill!!!!
The Sons were hit with grief and sorrow
At what had happened
They went to the island of Long haired women
And claimed the spit for themselves
Leaving the shores in the curragh
To give three shouts on a hill
To Miochaoin!!!!
7. The Wavesweeper
Towards the Hill of Miochaoin, they went
Brian faced Miochaoin, and they fought
Like two beast's they attacked
And as the sun rose Miochaoin fell
As they heard their father's cry
The Sons Of Miochaoin,appeared
Corc,Conn and Aedh ,the champions gathered
Courage Strength and honor in their thought's
Spear's held tight against their enemy
The Last stand of defence on their father's hill
The Sons of Tuireann adamant on their task
They began to clash.
Driving their spear's into Tuireanns Son's
The Sons in turn did the same
Although death was upon them
The task was still at hand
Nearly at death and bereft of time
Brian called to his brother's
Let u rise up and climb the hill
And give the three shouts.
And with that Brian helped them up
He raised them up with one in each hand
Shedding river's of blood, they gave the three shouts
Brian returned his brother's to the Wavesweeper.
Manannan's Wavesweeper was ancient
It was a sacred curragh
It sailed fast on air and water
With the ferocious speed of the wind
The Son's traveled for many year's with despair and grief
They came to Beinn Edair
And their Father' dun
And asked him for help.
The Brother's gave the spit to Tuireann
Give it to Lugh in friendship
For they needed the healing, power of the pigskin
For death had nearly claimed them.
Tuireann journeyed to Teamhair
In the search for Lugh
He handed over the cooking spit
And asked for the pig skin
Lugh turned and refused him
Even for the earth in gold
Brian asked again and got the same
To their death's they would go.
Brian left and returned to his brothers
And as he lay, the life went from him
He lay dead there, with his brethern
A quest for their life's in vain
Tuireann cried and lamented for his sons
Each of them could have been a king
And so he fell and died with a broken heart
The Son's and him buried in one grave.
