Toss and turn.
Cold sweat stains the bed.

I look about my humble dwelling, five stories up.

A voice breaks still silence, softly beckoning.
My blood turns cold, extremities start tingling.

A cold kiss to rid me of my misery.
The quiet summoning draws me to my feet.
There comes a scrape and a tapping.
The room grows cold, all my courage flees.
As I turn to face the window to find the source of the knocking, I stare into the empty eyes that have been watching me.
