1. Darkness Will Become Like Morning
Are not my few days almost over?
Turn away from me so I can have a moment's joy
Before I go to the place of no return,
To the land of gloom and deep shadow,
To the land of deepest night,
Of deep shadow and disorder,
Where even the light is like darkness.
Yet if you devote your heart to him and
Stretch out your hands to him,
If you put away the sin that is in your hand
And allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
Then you will lift up your face without shame;
You will stand firm and without fear.
You will surely forget your trouble,
Recalling it only as waters gone by.
Life will be brighter than noonday,
And darkness will become like morning.
You will be secure, because there is hope;
You will look about you and take your rest in safety.
You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,
And many will court your favor.
But the eyes of the wicked will fail,
And escape will elude them;
Their hope will become a dying gasp.
2. Lament Concerning The King Of Tyre
Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him:
"This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
You were the model of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone adorned you;
Ruby topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise and beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
On the day you were created they were prepared.
You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
For so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
You walked among the fiery stones."
3. Seven Angels With Seven Plagues
I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign:
Seven angels with the seven last plagues--
Last, because with them God's wrath is completed.
And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed
With fire and, standing beside the sea;
Those who had been victorious over the beast
And his image and over the number of his name.
They held harps given them by God
And sang the song of Moses the servant of God
And the song of the Lamb:
"Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the ages."
Who will not fear you, O Lord,
And bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
For your righteous acts have been revealed.
After this I looked and in heaven the temple,
That is, the tabernacle of the Testimony, was opened.
Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues.
4. Megiddo
5. The Almighty
At this my heart points
And leaps from its place.
Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice,
To the rumbling that comes from his mouth.
He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven
And sends it to the ends of the earth.
After that comes the sound of his roar;
He thunders with his majestic voice.
When his voice resounds,
He holds nothing back.
He loads the clouds with moisture;
He scatters his lightning through them.
At his direction they swirl around
Over the face of the whole earth
To do whatever he commands them.
He brings the clouds to punish men,
Or to water his earth and show his love.
Out of the north he comes in golden splendor;
God comes in awesome majesty.
The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
In his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
Therefore, men revere him,
For does he not have regard for all the wise in heart?
6. The Hammer Of The Whole Earth
Take up your positions around Babylon,
All you who draw the bow,
Shoot at her! Spare no arrows,
For she has sinned against the Lord.
Shout against her on every side!
She surrenders, her towers fall,
Her walls are torn down.
Since this is the vengeance of the Lord,
Take vengeance on her;
Do to her as she has done to others.
Cut off from Babylon the sower,
And the reaper with his sickle at harvest.
Because of the sword of the oppressor
Let everyone return to his own people,
Let everyone flee to his own land
The noise of battle is in the land,
The noise of great destruction!
How broken and shattered
Is the hammer of the whole earth!
How desolate is Babylon
Among the nations!
I set a trap for you, O Babylon,
And you were caught before you knew it;
You were found and captured
Because you opposed the Lord.
The Lord has opened his arsenal
And brought out the weapons of his wrath,
For the Sovereign Lord Almighty has work to do
In the land of the Babylonians.
7. The Dead Are Judged
Then I saw a great white throne
And him who was seated on it.
Earth and sky fled from his presence,
And there was no place for them.
And I saw the dead, great and small,
Standing before the throne, and books were opened.
Another book was opened, which is the book of life.
The dead were judged according to what they
Had done as recorded in the books.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it,
And death and Hades gave up the dead
That were in them,
And each person was judged according to what he had done.
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
The lake of fire is the second death.
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life,
He was thrown into the lake of fire.
8. Satan's Doom
When the thousand years are over,
Satan will be released from his prison
And will go out to deceive the nations
In the four corners of the earth--Gog
And Magog--to gather them for battle.
In number they are like the sand on the seashore.
They marched across the breadth of the earth
And surrounded the camp of God's people,
The city he loves.
But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.
And the devil, who deceived them,
Was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,
Where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.
They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
9. War
It is a war.
A war for your soul.
Satan sent his legions of demons to tear you down.
God the Father sent His Son to die for you.
You are important to this world.
You have not yet fallen,
The dark angels fell and they are jealous of God's love for you.
You were created for God and you must believe.
10. The Seventy Sevens
Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people
And your holy city to finish transgression,
To put an end to sin,
To atone for wickedness,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
Know and understand this:
From the issuing of the decree
To restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One,
The ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens' and sixty-two 'sevens.'
It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench,
But in times of trouble.
After the sixty-two 'sevens,'
The Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.
The people of the ruler who will come
Will destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end,
And desolations have been decreed.
He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.'
In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on a wing of the temple he will set up
An abomination that causes desolation,
Until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.
11. Samekh
I hate double-minded men,
But I love your law.
You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.
Away from me, you evildoers,
That I may keep the commands of my God!
Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live;
Do not let my hopes be dashed.
Uphold me, and I will be delivered;
I will always have regard for your decrees.
You reject all who stray from your decrees,
For their deceitfulness is in vain.
All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross;
Therefore I love your statutes.
My flesh trembles in fear of you;
I stand in awe of your laws.
12. Sorrow For The Doomed Nation
O my soul, my soul!
I am pained in my very heart!
My heart makes a noise in me;
I cannot hold my peace,
Because you have heard, O my soul,
The sound of the trumpet,
The alarm of war.
Destruction upon destruction is cried,
For the whole land is plundered.
Suddenly my tents are plundered,
And my curtains in a moment.
How long will I see the standard,
And hear the sound of the trumpet?
For My people are foolish,
They have not known Me.
They are silly children,
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil,
But to do good they have no knowledge.
I beheld the earth,
And indeed it was without form, and void;
And the heavens, they had no light.
I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled,
And all the hills moved back and forth.
I beheld, and indeed there was no man,
And all the birds of the heavens had fled.
13. Days Of War And Battle
Have you ever given orders to the morning
Or shown the dawn its place,
That it might take the earth by the edges
And shake the wicked out of it?
The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;
Its features stand out like those of a garment.
The wicked are denied their light,
And their upraised arm is broken.
Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea
Or walked in the recesses of the deep?
Have the gates of death been shown to you?
Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know all this,
What is the way to the abode of light?
And where does darkness reside?
Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?
Surely you know, fore you were already born!
You have lived so many years!
Have you entered the storehouses of the snow
Or seen the storehouses of the hail,
Which I reserve for times of trouble,
For days of war and battle?
What is the way to the place where lightning is dispersed,
Or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth?
Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain,
And a path for the thunderstorm,
To water a land where no man lives,
A desert with no one in it,
To satisfy a desolate wasteland
And make it sprout with grass?
Does the rain have a father?
Who fathers the drops of dew?
From whose womb comes the ice?
Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens
When the waters become hard as stone,
When the surface of the deep is frozen?
