ENSLAVED LYRICS
album: "Vikingligr veldi" (1993)
1. Lifandi lif undir hamri2. Vetrarnótt
3. Miðgarðs eldar
4. Heimdallr
5. Norvegr
1. Lifandi lif undir hamri
Par sem fleiri stjórna
Frá óveðri, snjóklæddum
Fjallartoppum
Sjáum við yfir land og þjóð
Við riðum á Miðgarðs brautum
þoka frá jörðinni fer i kringum
Okkur
Að vestan getum við séð sjoinn, par
Sem þeir fóru i höfn áður en þeir
Foru norður
Vindblásið land, tómar eyðimerkur
þeir djúpustu skógar og
Svörtustu kjarr
Fjörður og fjöll er okkar landamerki
I lifandi lifi undir hamri
Fædd i mynd af þeim premar
Til lifandi lif undir hamri
Horn eiga aftur að heyrast
I fjöllum og dölum
[English translation:]
[Living Beneath The Hammer]
Windswept landscape, desolated mountain plateaus
The Deepest woods and darkest scrubs
Fiords and mountains are our landmarks
In a life beneath the Hammer
A long and narrow kingdom
Ruled by trinity
From stormy mountain tops covered with snow
We behold the kingdom of the Hammer
We ride along the paths of Midgard
Fog from the soil rises at our feet
To the west the shore can be seen,
Where the first sat foot ashore
Where they raised sail towards north
2. Vetrarnótt
Svarta kalda vetrar nótt
Vektur af söngvi og dansi
Fra skýjum glitra þórs ljómandi
örvar
Mánin lýsir yfir hringnum
Niu ljós fyrir þá niu i hringnum
Hrigaðir af niu skyggum fyrir
þá niu sálinar
I miðjunni, borð af eldi, jorð
Vatni og golu
Við leitum, en við sjáum okkur sjálf
[English translation:]
[A Winter's Night]
A dark, chilling winters night
Unsilently awoken by song and dance
From above rains the golden arrows of Thor
Moonbeams enlighten the ring
Nine torches for those nine in the circle
Surrounded by nine shadows for nine souls
In the middle, an altar of fire, soil, water and wind
Look, and behold yourself
3. Miðgarðs eldar
Lúðurinn lætur
Heimfarinn til okkur Guðs ættingar
Miðgarðs eldar, og gamlitimins
Dular fulle stund er ennþa
Bústaðarmenn fara eins og kuikindi
Yfir hús og bæ
Mjöllnir sveiflast, þrumur og eldingar
Vikingars einkamerki úlfar
Og krummar
Vakta yfir hásæti
[English translation:]
[Fires Of Midgard]
The call of the Gjallarhorn
Return to the ring of our forefathers gods
The flames of Midgard's fires and ancient mysticism still are
Asgårdsreien rides with terror above the village
Mjolner is swung, thunder and lightning!
The landmarks of the Vikings
Wolves and ravens guards the throne
4. Heimdallr
Heimdallr heitir einn áss
hann er kallaðr hviti áss
hann er mikill ok heilagr
tennr hans váru af gulli
Hestr hans heitir Gulltopr
Hann býr þar er heitir
Himinbjörg við Bifröst
þarf hann minna svefn en fugl
hann sér jafnt nótt sem dag hundrað
rasta frá sér
hann heyrir ok þat er gras vex á
jörðu eao ull á sauðum
ok allt þat er hærra lætr
Hann hefir lúðr þann er
Gjallarhorn hetir
ok heyrir blástr hans i alla heima
[English translation:]
Heimdall is the name of an Old Norse God;
He is called the Old White Norse God;
He is great and holy;
His teeth are made of gold;
His horse is named Goldtop.
He lives where it's called the mountain in the sky besides Bifrost.
He needs less sleep than a bird;
He sees night as clear as day
One thousand miles away from where he is;
He also hears the grass grow from the soil,
Or the wool on the sheep and everything that can be heard.
He possess the horn that is called the Gjallarhorn,
And they can hear him blowing the horn in all the homes.
5. Norvegr
