GWYNBLEIDD LYRICS
1. Nostalgia
As in a dream I traveled back to times lost, places remembered.
And with me I take all that is "I".
And once there, I held still in the moment,
aware that again it would be gone.
Gone were the days, echoes in memory.
Sweet befallings of my mindless flaw
lived on.
Together we ran away,
abandoned reason for hope,
and left behind our essence.
Lost it all, and for what?
Alas, on the wings of hope,
where we to meet at the end of roads?
To what the facade dressed
in strokes of mocking void
left me dreaming for?
The past comes alive and clear with awareness.
Trees bare green around the senile court.
Awaken to the kind of dandelion youth
others have only dreamed about.
To hold it still!
The countless times I've reached and failed,
for what - you cannot see.
Seductive cult of yearning
blindly leads me still - away!
Blessed with the notion of past no more,
we blundered on without cause.
The mist, once ever fallen - forever
exiled the most cherished thoughts...
2. New Setting
with solemn gaze towards the far
gathering remnants of vibrant unease
the sun inert, behind a sullen fog
and still towards eastern shore
the time begone became my northern star
like so many times before
into primeval
with disquiet at hand
the sole ward laden by avowal
and this eve's contrieriety manifest
there alive by midnight wild
the weary guard watches
gathering around
as winds dance upon the nest again
see me in the summer night
among the ones who knew my tale
know me still
for i am returned to where i dwell
brought upon the summit of hope
where tracks blend with echoes of the past
the blooming flora I've come to cherish
extends its fearful hand
how weak my voice among the winds of time
how small my stance, against collosal trends
how feeble my hope in the hands of the maker
(and) how misguided my reason to beg for this
- a new setting
And there at the solstice of this animation
to disperse back into the void...
3. The Awakening
Awake!
To ancient ways,
where truth prevails!
[spoken voices, shimmer]
search within yourself
borne of current age of desacration
a realm of men exists against the natural ways
archaic truths
come tonight
absolve us of fabled axioms
from now on
let there rule the light of old
let runes burn
among the men who never knew
the value of blood
show thyself
dressed in sins of old
in these words I see the way
to reach for wisdom of the ages
through these words i walk the paths
those our forefathers hailed
4. Lure Of The Land
[spoken:]
in lands prisitine you'll find that which possesses the weak of mind
throughout
our feeble domain
the human transgretions
of waste and decay
the stains of blood
have marked our way
ambitions surpassed
by ever greater "deeds"
inside of every man's heart
could lie the seeds of temperance
instead,
the mongers amass
in endless procession
with steel and seal
it calls!
ingrained in our creed
disease of possession
regression through need
in lands prisitine you'll find that which possesses the weak of mind
with gaze and glare and lured within, one blinding faith they follow
the dreams of unposessed repressing ancient values
and when hearts fail, forgotten of need
throw down the shackles - humanity's greed!
seek out the essence that's left to us pure
abandon on claims, surrender land's lure
