1. Memories Of The Afterlife
Dreaming dreams never dreamed before
am I even myself anymore?
They sink my grave and set the stone
you walk away and you let me go.
Here I am, now alone
as a ghost with flesh and bone
I rot as my loved ones cry
and watch scenes of a wasted life.
My forgotten memories line a hallway
with all my failures on display
a circus of souls and a burning cross
a portrait of everyone I've ever lost.
No one is waiting for me.
A sea of sound and a sky of light
born again in the dead of night.
Stars watch me like crying eyes
waking up again in the place where i died.
Never alive but not quite dead
hanging on to words unsaid
at last the dream is over
I lay awake inside a coma.
I see everyone again
the living, dead and the unborn.
I've seen things I'll never forget
the memories of the afterlife.
No one is waiting for me.
No one is waiting for me.
2. A Lifetime By Design
21 gun salute for our fallen brother,
hand another folded flag to his mother,
standing in line trying not to cry,
they empty a full mag into the sky.
Remember them
every friend
coming home
in a bodybag.
Another atom blast lights up the night
and the tears are wiped with stars and stripes
children laying in pieces, I'll never understand,
don't ever ask for peace with a gun in your hand.
Our future revealed
on the battlfield
nothing more
than a human shield.
He looked at me, he fell away
a fallen soldier, my only friend
marching all night, we ask each other
when will this war ever end?
The madness of war they all adore
blood drunk and asking for more
those die who weren't afraid to fight
how can any of this be right?
Laying in the rain writing his last letter
to his wife and his child he never even met,
full of regret, he tells her not to wait
he hugs his rifle and smokes his last cigarette.
Bred for war
since we were small,
a sign of the times
a lifetime by design.
He looked at me, he fell away
a fallen soldier, my only friend
marching all night, we ask each other
when will this war ever end?
The madness of war they all adore
blood drunk and asking for more
those die who weren't afraid to fight
how can any of this be right?
Enemy fire blazing through the sky
reminds me of fireworks on the 4th of july,
like stars in my eyes, what a lovely sight
laughing as the priest reads me the last rites.
3. City Of Ghosts
Pale faces and hearts of stone,
every child is his fathers clone,
an entire lifetime spent alone,
every killer is bred at home.
Shredded flesh upon your swollen fists
and scar tissue across your wrists,
broken down soul, scavenger of pain
never the same, only a face remains.
Learn to all live the same
and condemn all that you cannot name
aspire to be next to nothing at all,
live blind and the blind shall fall.
Beaten to death and back to life again.
(I awaken)
Your eyes bleed sunshine
but your heart remains so cold
in a world where I can't tell apart
a ghost from living man
and here I am, walking in your shadow again
here we are, worlds away but never far apart.
Forced to show signs of fear and weakness
but how could I just repent?
Endorsed by a benign sense of sickness:
innocence, hope and blind remorse.
Watching their eyes shine
in the burning house that used to be mine,
people move along like puppets
on the burning streets that are their stage.
Beaten to death and back to life again.
(I awaken)
Your eyes bleed sunshine
but your heart remains so cold
in a world where I can't tell apart
a ghost from living man
and here I am, walking in your shadow again
here we are, worlds away but never far apart.
4. The Arcane Language Of Dementia
Sitting, watching, fearing all I see
many, secrets, held inside of me
cold and shaking, sweating all over
this is my first breath after a coma.
They can't understand, why I never speak,
you'll never see me again the way you remember me,
the way you wanted me to be,
now revived, half alive, not nearly enough to survive,
forget my name and forget the past,
your heart will be set free from me at last.
Do what we say and follow the rules,
if you start to talk we swear you can leave
but promises only comfort fools
and its hard to speak when you cant even breathe.
You can't understand
this is where I remain
I can't watch you fly away,
fly away.
If this could be real
then I'd try to feel
for just one day.
A medicated mind, an injection directly to the brain,
a near lethal dose, to kill the pain,
I dont recognize my face, I don't feel the same,
a spiritual momentary affliction, a catatonic fit,
quiet now, this won't hurt a bit
the permanent silence, the ultimate hit.
A flock of ghosts by my bedside
a silent whisper and I am free
the final trip, a lucid ride
was all I ever needed.
You can't understand
this is where I remain
I can't watch you fly away,
fly away.
If this could be real
then I'd try to feel
for just one day
Staring through the window
into a thousands lives ago
like a memory of a dream
that I swore I've never seen.
Quiet now
come along for the ride.
5. A Texas Funeral
Drunk, high and stoned
on a 100 straight kms of torn up road,
a fugitive with his foot to the floor,
and caught by the local law.
No one crying, no one grieving,
"We just bury 'em breathing",
no memories to share, no songs of joy,
just a good old fashioned texas funeral boy.
Give 'em a torch and a bible,
and hammer the fucking lid shut.
Dirt falls through the cracks
and hits the page
of the last words he will ever read.
Flashlight starts to blink
and it stabs him with fear
crys untill his mouth fills up with tears
last thing he read was...
"When you find your home
I'll fade away" repeated on first line
(Don't - you - know - what - you've - done?).
Punching the walls, screaming 'till he bleed,
scratches the roof untill his fingers break,
a lifetime flashes before his eyes,
calming down, he accepts his fate.
He read verse for verse,
the battery getting worse,
the air starting to wear thin.
He says his last prayer
as he gasps for the air
wondering if anyone would even care.
And all of a sudden
everything went black.
Dirt falls through the cracks
and hits the page
of the last words he will ever read.
Flashlight starts to blink
and it stabs him with fear
crys untill his mouth fills up with tears
last thing he thought was...
"When you find your home
I'll fade away"
(Don't you know what you've done?).
6. Formula For Failure
Everything you once cared for just became another possesion,
and everything you thought you loved was just another obsession,
a painful confession, a numbing aggression,
a sober reflection of a world of depression.
You cannot fail,
hold your breath and follow me.
I cannot see.
spread your wings and fly with me.
Every breath is a gift,
but life is all you make of it,
you fall and break, just take my hand,
and I will help you never fall again.
I can now see clear
far beyond my fear
one last chance to say...
A swandive to the concrete, a front row seat to a life complete.
Born and raised in a loving home, but craved a life on the street,
a failure to recognize, a growing problem in disguise
a wounded soul in the throes of demise.
I can't feel you
you've taken so much from me.
Can't save yourself
a crying heart begging to be freed.
Every breath is a gift,
but life is all you make of it,
you fall and break, just take my hand,
and I will help you never fall again.
I can now see clear
far beyond my fear
one last chance to say...
7. Convergence
I keep watching this spirit
that consumes the street,
its voice is violence
and its song is deceit.
Try to reach out and touch,
try to pretend,
but everyone who you called a friend
thinks you are already dead.
Chalk my outline on the concrete
and leave the flowers by your feet,
next to the building that is burning down
under the stars of stray rounds.
A freeway of scars on my mind,
a cure for time, I cannot find.
One thing you say will find me your eyes
all that you fear will converge in time
all that you see, all that you dream
all that you never ever wanted to be.
Where are those that need my help?
Where are those I must protect?
Where are those who fight with me?
Where are those who want to be set free?
A freeway of scars on my mind,
a cure for time, I cannot find
One thing you say will find me your eyes
all that you fear will converge in time
all that you see, all that you dream
all that you never ever wanted to be.
8. Spiritual Architect
Another user, Another OD,
you beg on the street, just to get what you think you need.
Shattered and broken, hollow inside,
try to numb the pain that you cannot hide.
You fall
and you say
"This will take my pain away".
"Help me"
"Save me"
There is nothing left to save.
If god is the needle and the hit is your prayer
then heaven is the gutter and you're almost there.
If life is a train and the driver is fear
then the next stop is hell, and I'll be waiting here.
And my need is gone...
Can't see the problem, can't see the effect
can't see the good man, who is now wrecked.
Take a look in the mirror, take a look at yourself,
you don't even remember, the face you see.
No chance and no hope,
just too late to save.
You spent your whole life
digging your own grave.
If hope is a bullet and faith is a gun
then salvation is death and your life is done.
If this life was a dream and its the end it seems
then i would be drowning now, will you follow me?
And my need is gone...
Another kid to young to die,
didn't want to say goodbye,
didn't want the fun to end,
I guess I just miss my friend.
And my need is gone...
9. Underworld Supremacy
Ffucking street kid, you never learn..
you beat another person just for fun,
lose your trust and you lose your friends
you traded your mind for a fucking gun.
You will waste away in silence
when you lose your taste for the violence,
what the hell have you gotten into,
they have made a monster out of you.
I see your killer disguise,
still wearing a child's eyes,
so sad the monster we see,
isn't the boy we recognize.
Punched on, kicked in and beaten blue,
you pay your due to your fucking crew,
you prey on the weak and get your first kill,
god forgive you, cause no one else will.
Shot and killed on his birthday,
I still remember his favourite toy,
mom and dad look down at him and say
"Look at how they destroyed our boy".
I held you 'till your last breath,
watching the fading life in your eye,
I wish you the peace in death,
I could never give you in life.
He was alone, streets were his home,
the boy died on his own,
a slave to the gun,
we bury our only son,
what did we let him become?
I held you 'till your last breath,
watching the fading life in your eye,
I wish you the peace in death,
I could never give you in life.
He was alone, streets were his home,
the boy died on his own,
a slave to the gun,
we bury our only son,
what did we let him become?
10. Degenesis
Born as a failure, no system or solution,
the illegitimate product of evolution.
Hack the senses and purge the mind.
Genes and data intergrate and bind.
Dentient constructs overide and multiply,
feed me with life so I can never die.
Feed me with life so I can never die,
feed me with life.
Sshattered minds re-emerge into one collective consiousness,
stolen thoughts, using remote minds to think and thrive.
It floods my thoughts, it makes me whole,
the growing cluster, the virus in my soul.
Ccircuitry lines now feed my mind,
my corroding eyes emit light and shine.
Ressurected branches of mind,
combined, refined, mankind is re-defined.
Seperated from flesh and bone,
reproduced models of my clone.
I see the world reborn in reverse.
I see flames tear across the skys
And once more you fail me.
An echo resonates through the corridors of time,
extracting every mind to converge to mine.
11. The Human Error
Nerve branches corrode and recoil
my eyes cloud and cataract
and I see clearly now.
Devour this dream
I've lived my entire life inside,
deliver me to the paradise I've been denied.
Conceived and deprived,
born in catatonia,
sever your addiction
of a life of fiction.
Disconnect this spirit from me
and destroy the false being within.
Centuries erased in seconds,
but death only hurts the ones we leave behind
awaken inside distant memories
elevate me to something more.
Desensitized orphan of war,
a sensory corrupted passenger
on the road to a divine trauma.
Infected with fear, I can't breathe,
and the virus flows through me
and I still don't believe.
Shed this vile skin that poisons me,
remove the shackles of guilt that imprison me.
Centuries erased in seconds,
but death only hurts the ones we leave behind
awaken inside distant memories
elevate me to something more.
